Water levels are dropping into the prime summer range. We’re seeing about 12,600 cfs this morning, but the forecast has us falling toward 9,500 cfs today and lower through the weekend. This is great news for campers; as the river drops below 10,000 cfs, the sandbars become massive and easy to find. Expect typical summer navigation with plenty of room to spread out.
The weather is showing some rain today and a more significant system on Sunday with nearly an inch expected. It shouldn't wash out the weekend, but you’ll want a good tarp if you’re staying out through Sunday night. We have 118 units still available for the weekend, so there is no rush to book if you're waiting to see how the clouds look.
Conditions are excellent for anyone looking to get an overnight trip in before the mid-summer crowds pick up. The current drop in CFS will continue to expose new sand through Saturday.
