River level and weather update

The river conditions this week are particularly tough to forecast with the rainfall amount and location uncertainty heading into the weekend. Currently, the river level is expected to peak tomorrow morning with the Prairie du sac dam hitting 20,000 CFS. This level is not good for overnight trips as there wont be any sandbars for camping. However, the river level is expected to drop to 15,000 CFS on Friday and even lower to around 13,000 CFS on Saturday. 15,000 is higher than we would hope for overnight trips but there will still be sandbars to camp on and the river will continue to drop heading into Saturday morning. Very high temps are expected this weekend, high 80’s to mid 90’s and humid. Perfect temps for swimming in the river! We should remain dry Friday-Saturday but with the high temps, a pop up storm can’t be ruled out. Come prepared for inclement weather just in case!
