The river is currently at 4,010 cfs, which is about as good as it gets for sandbar camping. Navigation is easy and the islands are huge. We have nearly our entire fleet of 140 boats sitting ready in the yard, so if you're looking for a last-minute trip, the space is there.
Today and Friday are going to be wet. Tomorrow especially is looking at nearly an inch of rain, so unless you enjoy setting up camp in a downpour, Saturday is the better start date. The weather clears out by Saturday morning and stays solid through Labor Day Monday.
The water levels are staying stable between 3,600 and 5,000 cfs for the next five days. It's classic summer paddling. Just pack an extra tarp if you're heading out before Saturday morning.
