We are officially in the offseason. The shop is closed and the rental fleet is packed away until we reopen in May. If you are looking to get on the water this week, you are on your own for gear and shuttles.
The river is currently flowing at 11,100 cfs. This is the upper end of what we consider normal summer levels, meaning sandbars are smaller and a bit harder to find than usual. With today's drizzle and an 11 mph wind out of the northeast, the river is mostly just wet and lonely.
Flows are expected to drop toward 8,000 cfs by Wednesday and stay there through the end of the week. That drop will expose significantly more sand. For anyone with their own boat, the conditions look solid once this morning's drizzle clears out.
