All in all this looks like a real nice weekend to be on the water! A few scattered storms forecast for the area early Saturday morning but otherwise partly sunny and highs in the 80s Friday through Sunday. Winds are unusually low, even an elusive East breeze on Sunday to push you the last few miles home.
Water levels are higher than what we’d usually see this time of year given the big rains that came through last week but we’re still well below the threshold where sandbars will be an issue. Water is also trending quickly downward all weekend so whatever you go to sleep on is going to be notably larger the next morning.
Given this is traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the year out here, expect to see a few other groups on the water. That said, reservations across the industry are down somewhat so not as busy as years past. We’re included in that stat – we’d normally be sold out but have about 15-20 canoes left at the moment.
Happy paddling!
