Rising Water and Disappearing Sandbars

The river is currently sitting at 7,790 cfs. This is the classic summer sweet spot for navigation and camping, and we have 114 units available for today. Enjoy the sandbars while they last, because the gauges are moving up fast.

Rain totals around an inch per day are forecast through July 4th, pushing the river toward a projected peak of 19,000 cfs by Monday. As the flow crosses 15,000 cfs on Sunday, expect sandbars to shrink and eventually disappear. The islands are basically on a countdown clock right now.

If you are planning to camp this weekend, be prepared for high water and very limited site availability. Conditions will transition from perfect summer levels to high-water territory by Sunday morning.
