Mid-Week Update: Prime Sandbars & A Rainy Friday Forecast

Current flow is right around 7,500 cfs. This is the classic summer sweet spot where the sandbars are massive, clean, and easy to find. The water is low and moving at a pace that's easy for anyone to handle.

For the rest of the week: Thursday is an 85-degree day, but a 16 mph headwind from the southwest will be fighting you the whole way. Friday is looking rough—the forecast shows over an inch of rain. If that holds, you're going to want more than a gas station poncho. Saturday still has some lingering showers, but Sunday looks like the highlight of the week with a 10 mph tailwind from the east to help push you home.

River levels are expected to stay in the 6,000 to 7,500 range through the weekend. Even with Friday's rain, we don't expect the river to rise enough to hide the sandbars. It's great camping water. -Ryan
