We’re a week out from our first full weekend on the water. Current long term forecast looks great for weather – highs in the upper 60s/low 70s and sunny. Probably won’t be swimming but this is ideal campfire weather.
Water levels are currently high after a week of wet weather but those will drop back to normal on or around Thursday so all in all, should be a pretty ideal opening!

[Update: 5/8/24]
More rain than anticipated yesterday/last night means sandbars won’t be widely available until Tuesday or Wednesday. For reference, more rain fell yesterday than all of last May). I generally wouldn’t recommend going out on the river at these water levels, but this is early season and there aren’t going to be many people out there competing for the small handful of sandbars still above water so I also wouldn’t tell you *not* to go.
