reserveyourtrip   -or-   How our canoe trips work

Now taking reservations for 2012! Reserve your July/August weekend now before they sell out (because they always do).  Not sure of exact numbers? That's why our refund policy is awesome.

Who We Are

Wisconsin Canoe is a Travel Green Wisconsin company based in Spring Green, along with House on the Rock, Taliesin, and the American Players Theater. We offer the best canoe and kayak rentals on the Lower Wisconsin River (rated #1 by Navs and Schmud every year). Our sustainably built fleet of Holy Cow Canoes and Emotion Kayaks are brand new for 2011 (and our older aluminum fleet is still available at a reduced rate) making it the most modern and up-to-date fleet on the river.

The River

The Lower Wisconsin itself is nearly 100 miles of undammed, free flowing protected riverway that runs from Prairie Du Sac all the way to the Mississippi River.  It's been dubbed the "River of a Thousand Isles" for good reason.  Sandbars are everywhere and almost all are available for camping (no permits required).

Planning your trip

You're strongly recommended to make your reservations as far in advance as possible.  We completely sellout every weekend in July and August at least 2-3 weeks in advance so planning your trip sooner rather than later is a good thing.

If you're new to the river and wondering what to expect, check out the Know Your River menu at the top of the page for everything you'll need to know about what to bring, where to camp, and answers to our most frequently asked questions.

For those just looking for information to go on your own, download our detailed River Maps and bookmark our Current Conditions page.

Get involved

If you're still reading this, you must be wondering what else you can do to step our relationship up a level. Well, you can make it facebook official and like us at top left of page. Or, better yet, if you have something nice to say about us, leave a quick review and then join our newsletter.

For the head over heels, can't get enough of us crowd, we have a blog.  We try to update it at least once a month in the off-season, more often in-season, and it's pretty much the best place to get the latest, most tedious details about our goings-on.
