Here's how this typically works:
- Think about your trip - Do you want to do a 1 day trip or an overnight (2 or 3 days)? Day trips go to Arena, overnight trips typically go to Prairie Du Sac (you could also do a short overnight from Arena). Trip details are here. Learn about overnight camping on the river here.
- Decide on a shuttle departure - Find a departure time from Spring Green that works best for you. Shuttles for Arena day trips leave at 8am, 10am, and 12pm. Shuttles for Prairie Du Sac leave at 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 2pm.
- Reserve your boats - At this point, you're ready to make your reservation. We take our reservations through an online booking system. To Reserve Online, select the date your trip will begin, how many (calendar) days you will be renting, and how many boats you will need. Hit update and a list of available rentals will be populated. Click 'book now' to add to cart.
- Provide your information - When checking out, we'll ask for an email address to send trip details and confirmation. We'll also ask for a cell number that will only be used to contact you on the day of your reservation if conditions change unexpectedly. You will need to choose your trip and assocatied shuttle departure. If you have any questions, clarifications, or are bringing small children or pets, please leave this information in the notes section. After your payment is completed, you'll receive an emailed booking confirmation with all of the details of your trip.
- On the day of your reservation - On the day of your reservation, plan to arrive at our shop in Spring Green (we're located inside Woody's) at least 15 minutes before your shuttle departure. Shuttles leave exactly when scheduled (and sometimes earlier) and cannot wait for stragglers (they will be put on the next available shuttle). Drivers will follow the shuttle ~2 miles to the finish point at Peck's Landing, park their vehicles and board the shuttle for the ride upriver. After arriving at either Arena or Prairie Du Sac, your rentals and gear will be unloaded and you'll begin your trip downstream back to your vehicle. You've got the full length of your rental period to stop at sandbars, play in the river, etc. Because your vehicle is waiting at the end, you'll be able to pack up and leave as soon as you arrive, there is no set time you'll need to finish (though we ask that you're not out later than 5pm). You'll leave our equipment at the landing where we come through periodically throughout the day to pick it up.
