There are a number of outfitters located along the Prairie Du Sac to Muscoda segment of the Lower Wisconsin River putting out approximately 350 canoes a day. However, some of the outfitters still operating out here can be somewhat difficult to find on the web and because about 1/3 of the visitors to our website go straight to the rates page, we thought it might help to throw in some information about our competitors to make your outfitter search a little easier.
As of August 2010, the following outfitters were offering regular canoe rental service on the Priaire Du Sac, Sauk City, Mazomanie, Arena, Spring Green, Lone Rock, Gotham, and Muscoda stretch of the Wisconsin River.
| Company | Canoe Type |
Single Day Canoe Trip (~12 miles) |
Overnight Canoe Trip (~23 miles) |
| Wisconsin Canoe Co | Ultraglass/Aluminum | $29**-$39/canoe | $58**-$78/canoe |
| Blawkhawk River Runs | Aluminum | $32/canoe | $60/canoe |
| WI Riverside Resort | Aluminum | $37/canoe | $73/canoe |
| WI River Outings | Plastic Composite | $45/canoe | $70/canoe |
| Trader's Canoe Rental | Aluminum/Plastic | $35/canoe | $75/canoe |
**A note on our rates: Yes, our older canoes currently have the lowest rates of any regular outfitter on the Lower Wisconsin, however, there is a reason for this. Yes, almost everyone else has aluminum canoes too, but we're the best canoe company ever which extends to our desire to offer the best equipment ever (and aluminum, though respectable, is NOT the best equipment ever). No doubt you've seen our various articles highlighting our new for 2011 sustainable Holy Cow Canoe fleet. Anyone that's paddled in a well built canoe can vouch for their enjoyability over lesser boats.
